Get over it people!!! It’s called supply & demand. If it doesn’t sell on Amazon it will sell on Ebay for those prices. And when the supply catches up to the demand, the price will drop. Some people will pay for the convenience of getting something without having to get trampled on black friday or having to call their local retail store every single day to see if it is in stock. I bought mine for an inflated price and my kid loves it. And so be it. Be happy that you were lucky enough to get it at a regular retail price and stop bashing a good product for no reason.

I agree with the rest of the comments! I also wish the company would stop running the commercials if they cannot keep up with the demand. My daughter really wanted this toy and just had to tell her the truth, that we would not be able to buy her this toy until it was available in the stores at the price that it should be. Us parents just need to stick together and not purchase these toys at these prices! We have to stop giving in to our children and teach them that sometimes they just have to wait for things that they want. This is now a world of instant gratification and it is hurting our children. I speak from experience as I am now paying the price with my 19 year old who just wants everything handed to him without working for it (and guess who he blames for this!). I will not make this mistake with my 11 and 6 year old. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest and I hope you make the right decision and not purchase this toy from this seller.

I am disabled. Always shop for my sweet grandchildren on line @ amazon.com Today I am very disappointed and depressed. Ordered the Zhu Zhu hamster and starter house set for my grand daughters birthday. Thought it was a high price I couldn’t afford but wanted to get her something she wanted for her birhday. [...] I could have bought her several things w/this outrageous price including the set @ Walmart. We really need internet police if Amazon is going to allow this type thing to happen to rip off the elderly and disabled. I am checking on return policies. It is unfortunate that some company owners can do this and still sleep at night.

I agree with the other reviewer if people would just let parents buy these for their kids instead of buying to mark up at outrageous prices and stop taking advantage of the consumer. I already had to explain that Santa is unable to get these pets for my twins for this holiday. They wanted to know why and that Santa can do everything…I had to tell them the zhu zhu pet maker machine broke and can’t be fixed so no more zhu zhu pets…they ask why the commercial is still on …so now i have heartbroken kids who won’t get the one thing they really wanted for Christmas….

4 Stars 4 stars…only if you paid the $7each suggested retail price & didn’t get ripped off.
If you can’t find one of these for your kids….wait. Don’t be stupid & pay $50 or even $100 that some of these jerks are trying to get for them. They just aren’t worth it!! My son got one & likes it fine, but months ago he got another hamster like this one at Cracker Barrell that had a wheel & was every bit as cute for $15!!!! They just aren’t that special & they will be trying to give them away in stores after Christmas & the kids that got them will have lost all interest by then anyways!!!!!!

I got up early and was able to get Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters at WalMart. So glad because I know they are selling out stores because I’ve been calling everywhere.

Anyway, my kids have been playing with them all day. And then hair got wrapped around the little wheel and I thought one had broke so I spent forever trying to get the hair off — but that’s not what was making an additional squealing noise and making the wheels stop turning.

The little Zhu Zhu pets hamsters just needed new batteries. They came with 2 AAA batteries from the manufacturer — and I’m sure they weren’t in the store that long so that little hands could’ve worn out the batteries thru the “try me” window.

They must’ve just come with batteries not as good as the ones I changed them into. Because I just popped in some Duracel or whatever batteries — and now the Zhu Zhu Pets run even faster than when we first bought them this morning.

My children are playing with them as I write.

Now we want all the Zhu Zhu pets in the collection — and the accessories. Maybe by Christmas or before…

Nothing adventurous about this ball! More like aggravation! The pet does not roll with the ball it falls on its side and the ball falls apart!

4 Stars Be careful
Be careful who you are buying from. Realize that Amazon isn’t the one charging these prices. It is the sellers. Definitely do your homework because in some cases the sellers are charging 3xs the retail value for these toys simply because they are popular. I personally do not think Amazon should allow such sellers because it does turn people off to this site and if they are legit sellers they really do not need to be taking advantage of people.

Great toy. Wait it out and you’ll get one for ten dollars or less.

3 Stars Wait till the prices come down, then buy
I brought the hamsters at TrU for $[...] each. The toys are cute but only worth the original retail price. The prices charged by the third party re-sellers are heavily marked up. The manufacturer gets no benefit from this situation as it causes bad will against the company and the product. Ditto for Amazon. I bet that the manufacturer is ramping up production as fast as possible and that these will be in stock in huge numbers pretty soon and those who brought out the first inventory will be forced to reduce their prices for the toys they still have. Such is the law of supply and demand. These will certainly be available before Christmas.

4 Stars Amazon is a rip-off
I verified the above review and in some cases,Amazon is charging 6 times more than Toys R Us. Check out the 3 hamster set at Toys R Us for 22.99. Amazon is selling it for $139.98!!!! I used to buy all of my Christmas presents from Amazon. Not anymore!

5 Stars Learned My Lesson This Time!
Ok I admit I spoil my kids! When they see these ZHU ZHU PETS on TV, they of course want them and I cave and off we go looking LITERALLY ALL OVER TOWN TRYING TO FIND THEM! We must have went to 8-10 stores and have YET TO FIND AN ACTUAL ZHU ZHU PET HAMSTER! Most stores don’t even have an empty rack as they must not be carrying them yet! And three of the stores were Toyrus and each one said they can’t keep them on the shelves.

Six Hours Later, We did finally find one lone ADVENTURE BALL for which we now have with no Zhu Zhu pet yet! But we did try it out with the neighbors Zhu Zhu Hamster and it is Hilarious as it acts like a Real Hamster in The Adventure Ball. So as I always do whether it’s Bakugan, Littlest Pet Shop, Star Wars, Barbie, and now Zhu Zhu Pets I end up WASTING TONS of TIME and GAS MONEY trying to find them at Multiple Stores when I should have Just Paid A Little Extra and Had them Shipped Right To my Door by Buying them off Amazon…Oh well, Live and Learn I Guess!
